Second Decade, 1975-1985
During this
decade, flight operation capacity increased at airports administrated by
Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA);
the company increased apron services; implemented passenger and carry-on
luggage screening at international airports; promoted the construction of
proper special equipment for airport activities reducing costs as a result;
improved adequate mechanisms for air navigation in the airport network.
At the end of
the 1970’s, renovation works were performed mainly at the Mexico
City, Cancun, Acapulco, Guadalajara and Monterrey
airports. ASA used an integrated
concept that covered furniture, design, plastic integration and airport
equipment designed by ASA and made
in Mexico.
Technology
development was promoted with outstanding results such as: manufacture of
several vehicles and crop duster prototypes. The ASA Network airports came to include more than sixty airports and
aided the company to obtain recognition as operator and constructor in Latin America.
In 1979, ASA took charge of aircraft fuel and
lubricants supply.
By the 1980’s
the National Airport System had been consolidated.
