ASA Network Modernization

To bring Mexico and its airport network up to world class standards, the Federal Government has initiated modernization, expansion and improvements in the quality of services.

During the 2000-2006 presidential term, Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA) operated airports have renovated operational areas including: improvement of pavements, runway and apron expansions, modern visual aid installations, and diverse procedures to comply with international safety policies and regulations.

Terminal buildings were enlarged and renovated.

In accordance with the Environmental Protection Program, the separation of drainage systems was completed; wastewater treatment plants and provisional deposits for hazardous waste were built.

It is worth mentioning that 100% of the ASA Network airports have been adapted to give access to people with disabilities.

Today the ASA Network has been totally renovated with an investment of more than 200 million dollars. Due to these actions, commercial aviation operations have increased, which in turn have generated substantial economic growth in the different regions.
