Traveling with Pets

If you are traveling with 1 or 2 pets (cats or dogs) you will need:

  • Your pet’s health certificate

  • A valid vaccination certificate

If traveling with more than 2 pets (cats or dogs) you will need:

  • Your pets’ health certificates

  • Valid vaccination certificates

  • Bank receipt for rights payment (fill out SAT form # 5).

It is worth mentioning that pets travel with the checked luggage and it is recommendable NOT to put food in the traveling crates. Generally pets have to travel in adequate crates and should be sedated.

For further information or if traveling with pets other than dogs or cats, please consult the SAGARPA-SENASICA section which corresponds to the Directorate for Animal and Plant Health.

Remember to contact your airline for specific requirements about traveling with pets.
